The Quest, the Scurriers were "
short lived but magical creatures" created by
Lord Fear. They could only be seen "
in the corner of one's eye", and were sent into dangerous places between the
levels to fetch "
the mighty magical engines and incantations" that enabled Fear to construct his
Skeletrons.
