Treguard's genie assistant
Majida, who came from unspecified "Eastern parts", was
well known for her somewhat shaky grasp of the English language. It appears her native tongue was Arabic, as she spoke it on several occasions. The first was when she addressed Treguard with the term "
ya habibi", which literally translates as "
my beloved" and can mean anything from "friend" to "darling"! During the victory celebrations for
Team 6 of Series 7 and
Team 6 of Series 8, Majida could be heard to cry "
Mabrouk!", meaning "Congratulations".
The name Majida is Arabic for "glorious".
