1. Castell Coch

[Related Image] A Victorian fairytale castle built on the remains of a 13th century fortification, near the village of Tongwynlais in Cardiff. The name is Welsh for "Red Castle".

The following Knightmare scenes were filmed at Castell Coch:

[Related Image] Treguard stood in front of the bridge and main entrance during his Series 5 intro, apparently welcoming the Watchers to Knightmare Castle. "Please, step inside... if you dare."

[Related Image] Team 1, Team 2 and Team 4 of Series 5 boarded Smirkenorff from the main gateway.
Treguard: "I think this is the equivalent of what you would call an international departure lounge, and the next flight is leaving shortly."

[Related Image] The same gateway was also used for departing teams throughout Series 5 and Series 6.

[Related Image] Pickle: "There's magic hidden here, master!"
Team 6 of Series 5 used their divining rod to find a chest in the inner courtyard, before entering the Well Tower and heading down some stairs that lead to a dungeon.

[Related Image] A sort of reverse Eyeshield sequence, leaving the inner ward via the main gateway, was seen behind Treguard at the end of several Series 6 episodes.
"Play fair, or Fear play foul... we begin again at the allotted hour."

Castell Coch is now in the care of Cadw and is open to the public. Click here to visit the website.
