1. BS'n'P
BS'n'P is an unofficial acronym for Broadcasting Standards and Practices - the things generally accepted in pre-watershed programming. Because of the target audience of Children's TV, it tends to go under more scrutiny than is usual.

(In America, the broadcasting networks even have an office for BS'n'P, but I digress.)

Knightmare came into contact with the idea of acceptable standards and practices during Series 1, when well-known campaigner Mary Whitehouse complained about the series' violent areas. After she was shown an episode of KM, she apologised.

The most noticeable effects due to broadcasting standards came in Series 8, however, where (despite the introduction of gore in very small doses) the series appeared to be toned down somewhat - the action was still tense and scary, but in many places, KM seemed to be catering for CITV's new and younger audiences, with the less complicated language and more linear quests. It could easily be argued that this slight change in the attitude was an example of applied and acceptable BS'n'P on Tim Child's part.
