Can You Beat The Challenge? gamebook will lead the player to Zlissgath, who hisses at them in slightly disjointed English for 'wearing silly helmet' and being where they shouldn't. The adventure ends there. None of the later gamebooks had anything quite so bizarre.
In 2013, Dave Morris remarked on Twitter that the Zlissgath encounter '[had] to have been [written by co-author] Tim [Child], then. It's not the kind of thing I'd have put in.' He had previously tweeted his recollection that
